FAQ

Isn't concrete heavy?

Compared to most other materials, concrete is relatively heavy (weighing in about 140 lbs per cubic foot). However, most of our pieces don't need to be moved very often. When they do, it usually takes the same number of people as furniture built from other materials (for example, a patio table with a concrete slab can normally be moved with 2 to 4 people, depending on its size).

Do I have to worry about cracking or freezing

We design and build our pieces to be crack free and to resist freezing and moisture-related damage. We completely guarantee the quality of our work. If a piece does crack or spall due to a design or construction flaw, we will repair or replace it at no cost to the customer

What are my color options?

While many people prefer concrete with natural gray or earth tones, concrete can actually be pigmented almost any color.

How does the surface look and feel?

The surface appearance and texture will depend on how the concrete is finished, polished, and sealed. We can create pieces that have matte, semi-gloss, or high-gloss finishes, depending on what the customer wants. We can also do exposed aggregate finishes or inlays.

How much maintenance is required?

Although (as with any furniture) regular cleaning may be required or desired, all of our pieces are designed to be maintenance free. Not every piece will need to be sealed, but when it is required we use a high-quality, robust sealer that is food-safe, scratch-resistant, stain-proof, and maintenance-free.
